Dong Guan JIe

In this whole overseas trip, we went to Dong Guan Jie twice. We can say that it is one of the activities we enjoyed the most of this whole trip, since it is the first time we were shopping alone In a foreign country. This is a street consisting of many shops selling all kinds of things. According to one of our Chinese friend there, Dong Guan Jie is a very popular shopping street among the area, just like how popular is Orchard Road. The shops sell a large range of products, take for example, there are many shops selling food, fabrics, pretty accessories, soft toys etc. Furthermore, Dong Guan Jie sells these products at quite a cheap price. Therefore, many of us enjoyed the time we'd spent shopping and ended up spending quite a lot of money. From this street, we had get to know some of their food culture, like the Chinese Sugar Painting and also we have learned that one of their special local product is called 牛皮糖.

The gateway of Dong Guan Jie. As we walked pass the gateway of the Dong Guan Jie, there was a glass panel where plants grew beneath it. It was rather interesting as we wondered do people water and trim those plants.

Shop by the streets of Dong Guan Jie. Those small shops which tend to specialise in one type of product and this ranges from tea to make up and from chewy sweet cakes to souvenirs. The souvenirs there were very cute and were sold at a much cheaper price compared to Singapore.
