Bullet Train

rating:4/5

On the last day in China, we took the bullet train back to Shanghai. Most of us were very excited since it was our first time taking the train. So, we were all chit-chatting in the train among our own cliques, forgetting that we are still, in fact in a public area and that we may disturb others. As a result, another passenger had actually complained to the tour guide that we were too noisy, and asked us to quiet down. Thus, we have realize that maybe the people in Shanghai were also living in a fast paced environment, so they treasure the hours on these transportations to take a nap. From this, we can revise on one of the earliest values we have learnt and that is being a considerate person. Sometimes, we may get too carried away in our own activities such that we may take some things for granted. Since it is ok to buzz around in Singapore mrt trains, we didn't realize that our actions may actually bring trouble to others. However, the train itself is very comfortable and interesting. We can turn our chairs 180 degrees around to face our friends and then we will be able to talk and play around more comfortably. The train is also very different from Singapore's mrt trains. The seats were arranged in horizontal formations, which allowed more seats for the passengers. However, the seats in mrt trains were arranged in vertical formation, which allowed more passengers to be able to board the train. There are both advantages and disadvantages in both arrangements, which are also affected by the duration of the ride.

The Maglev bullet train which we took back to Shanghai. The bullet train is very different as compared to our Singapore's MRT since their train station is a lot more bigger than Singapore's. Also, we realized that the bullet are very punctual on the timing they stated on the train tickets. There would not be any delay in the arrival time of a train at a station. The sounds produced by the bullet train when it travels is also a lot quieter as compared to Singapore's MRT. Generally, we find the train ride in the bullet train comfortable and smooth.
